Atlas Gymnasium is no cookie cutter franchise gym, it has character, and is a true Christchurch local gym with friendly staff and a community feel. Established in a solid 1960’s warehouse in Addington, owners/operators, Rich and James, have set up a unique functional playground. They’ve used their exercise science degrees and years of training experience to handpick effective equipment to offer great variety and most importantly…the results you want. All members are offered personalised strength & conditioning programs, as well as comprehensive physical assessments. Whether you want to become leaner, improve aerobic or anaerobic fitness, prevent or rehab injuries, build muscle, or increase your strength and power, they can help you.

Setting Atlas Gymnasium up has been a labour of love for Rich and James. Like all good kiwi DIY’ers they rolled up their sleeves and worked alongside their contractors on jackhammers and floor scrapers to create this one of a kind gymnasium. There’s a vintage theme with art work giving a nod to bygone eras of people striving to be strong and healthy. The atmosphere is fun and social with games like table tennis, darts, and cornhole for between training, and the option to compete in the classes.

  • 1-2 hour supervised strength & conditioning tests
  • Includes specific warm up, specialised technique coaching on lifts, safely monitored loading progressions and spotting
  • Tests available:
  •  Bench Press, Back Squat, Bench Pull, Deadlift, Military Press, Front Squat, Push Press, Snatch, Clean and Jerk, Weighted chin ups and Dips, 3km TT, Pull ups, YoYo, Overhead Squat, + bodyweight exercises

Nutritional Consultation & Plan $60

  • Food log
  • Nutritional advice
  • Education on macro-nutrient breakdowns, calorie intakes, nutrient timing, sample meals, supplement advice, and tools to self monitor

Personal Training

  • Professional 1 on 1 coaching and guidance towards achieving your goals
  • 30 minutes = $30

Classes $40 (per 4 week block)

  • Classes run in 4 week blocks – Wednesday Mornings at 6:45am. (4 classes per block)
